One cleaner may find entries on your system that will not cause a problem when removed, another may not find the same entries, and still another may want to remove entries required for a program to work. Each vendor uses different criteria as to what constitutes a "bad" entry. Keep in mind that no two registry cleaners work entirely the same way. There are a number of them available and some are more safe than others. Registry cleaners are extremely powerful applications and their potential for harming your OS far outweighs any small potential for improving your computer's performance. Thanks!Įdited by PanzerVII, 13 April 2019 - 11:43 PM. I'm really stuck here so any help would be appreciated. They didn't even detect anything wrong with my system. I've also tried sfc /scannow commands and Windows maintenance programs but neither fixed the problem.

The problem however is that I've already quarantined and deleted the malware using Malwarebytes, cleaned up registry issues using Ccleaner, uninstalled the adwares and softwares the malware installed, and disabled non-Windows context menus in ShellExViewer. But I cannot right click on a file to edit its properties, run as administrator etc. Right clicking on nothing/desktop works and I can refresh, create new files and etc. It also only happens when I right click on a file, folder or shortcut. This has not happened before so I am sure this is caused by the program. So the issue is whenever I right click on a file in File explorer, File explorer either hangs up or the contextual menu takes 5-10 minutes to show up. There's a new problem in my computer that came up after I unknowingly installed a malware/adware program.
